Krav Maga where you actually need it.
Street Defense takes Krav Maga out of the gym and into the situations that actually catch you off guard: unprovoked attacks, escalating social encounters, the moments you can't predict.
Students train as both attacker and defender, developing the decision-making and problem-solving skills to act, survive, and escape. Shoes are required. Street clothes are strongly recommended. That's not a dress code. That's the whole point.
The class runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7 PM in a dance studio on West 68th Street: hardwood floors, no mats, which is why you train in shoes. All levels train together. Same system, same instructors, same standards as TriBeCa.
New to KMI? Everyone starts with the $39 induction in TriBeCa, beginners only, then trains at either studio on one membership.
When: Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7 PM, Upper West Side. 75 minutes.
Where: 48 W 68th Street, New York, NY 10023.
Wear: street clothes, strongly recommended. Shoes, required.
Bring: mouth and groin protection, water.
Who: all levels. Members only; your Foundation Month counts.
On the schedule as: "Street Defense (All Levels) KMI UWS @ W68th".
Both sides of the problem.
Unprovoked attacks
The sudden ones. Reading the approach, the first two seconds, and getting out.
Social escalation
Arguments that turn. De-escalation first, and what to do when it fails.
Attacker and defender
You play both roles, so you learn how threats develop, not just how to answer them.
Act, survive, escape
The order of priorities in every drill. Winning is leaving.
Start with an induction in TriBeCa.
Seventy-five minutes, beginners only, $39 credited toward joining. Then train uptown, downtown, or both.
