Who books this

Companies that want a wellbeing or team day with some substance to it. HR and people teams building a safety programme. Managers of staff who travel, work late, or deal with the public. Groups of friends or colleagues who want a session of their own rather than joining a class.

No experience is assumed. Nobody has to be fit, nobody has to be in gym clothes, and nobody gets singled out. A seminar can be practical and useful without being an ordeal, and most groups leave surprised at how much they enjoyed it.

What a session covers

Awareness first. Then hands.

Krav Maga is built to be learned quickly and remembered under stress. Every session is shaped around your group, but the spine is the same.

Situational awareness

Reading a street, a subway car, a lobby, a late-night walk to the car. Spotting trouble early enough that nothing else on this list is needed.

De-escalation

Posture, distance, voice and exits. How to lower the temperature of a confrontation and leave, which is the right answer almost every time.

Hands-on basics

A small number of simple, high-percentage defenses against the most common attacks, drilled until they stick. Controlled, safe, and scaled to the room.

Confidence that carries over

The calm people build in a session shows up back at work: in hard conversations, on the commute, on the road. That is the part nobody expects.

Formats

Three ways to run it.

Pick the one that fits the time you have. All three are quoted individually.

60 to 90 min

Lunch-and-learn

Awareness and de-escalation with a taste of the physical work. Runs in a conference room with the tables pushed back. The easiest way to start.

Half day

Seminar

The full spine: awareness, de-escalation and hands-on defenses, with time to drill properly. Works well as the active half of an offsite or wellbeing day.

Weekly

Series

A block of weekly sessions for a team that wants real skill, not a one-off. Held at your office or reserved at one of our studios.

Logistics

What it takes to run.

Where

Your office, if there is enough clear floor to move safely. Or our studios in TriBeCa and on the Upper West Side, reserved for your group.

Group size

Anything from a small team to a whole floor. Larger groups get more instructors, so everyone is coached and nobody stands around.

What people wear

Whatever they can move in. Office clothes are fine for a lunch-and-learn; for a half day, something comfortable. Shoes stay on outside the studio.

Who teaches

KMI head instructors: career coaches who have been through years of vetting, background checks and supervised teaching before they lead anyone.

Questions buyers ask

The practical stuff.

Does everyone have to take part in the physical work?

No. Anyone can sit out any drill, and we say so at the start. The awareness and de-escalation work is for the whole room; the hands-on part is coached in pairs at whatever level each person is comfortable with. Nobody is put on the spot.

Can you run a women-focused session?

Yes. KMI has run a dedicated women's self-defense programme for years, and a session for a women's network or ERG can be built on it. A female instructor can often be scheduled for a private corporate session on request; tell us in the form and we will confirm availability with your proposal.

What do we need to provide, and what do you bring?

You provide the room and the people. A conference room with the tables moved works for a lunch-and-learn; a half day wants more floor. We bring the instructors and any pads or equipment the session needs. If your space will not work, we reserve one of our studios for you.

Do you travel outside Manhattan?

Yes. We run sessions at offices in Brooklyn, New Jersey and further out. A travel surcharge may apply depending on distance, and there is generally a minimum group size or spend for off-site sessions. Both are set out in your proposal, nothing is added later.

How much notice do you need?

Tell us the date you have in mind and we will tell you straight away whether it works. Short notice is often possible for a lunch-and-learn; a half-day seminar for a large group is easier with a couple of weeks.

How is it priced?

Every proposal is bespoke, priced on group size, length and venue, so there is no rate card. You get a written outline and a price to take to whoever signs it off, usually within a day of your enquiry. No sales call unless you want one.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry liability insurance and can provide a certificate of insurance (COI) for on-site sessions. Ask for it in your enquiry and it comes with the proposal.

Tell us about your group.

Group size, where you would like to run it, roughly how long you have and what you are hoping people take away. We will come back with a session outline and a price, usually within a day.
